美國國會周三下午舉行召開參眾兩院聯席會議，認證總統選舉人團投票結果之際，總統特朗普的一批支持者闖入國會山莊，並與在場警員爆發激烈衝突。據報指，部分示威者期後成功闖入國會大樓，警方曾施放催淚彈。
